my rendition of the timeless mosaic, located in Central Park's Strawberry Fields.

lots of tour groups come through central park to see this mosaic, so getting a good shot of it can be tough during the day. i took one shot and then realized that i'd forgotten to adjust my aperture, so i had to wait a few minutes for the crowds to clear out. by that time, the light had improved and after making sure everything was properly set, i got a really nice shot.

Canon AE-1 Program
Rollei Pan 25
50mm lens, f/5.6

Organik from Australia

This is beautiful. The light is perfect, as is the black and white.

@Organik: many thanks, organik. in the end, i just got lucky... perhaps i should be glad that i messed up the first shot and had to wait to take the second :)

lissa from New York, United States

The black and white almost has a nostalgic feeling to it. Very nicely done.

@lissa: thank you for the unique insight and the complement! the nostalgic feeling just has to do with the light being perfect... maybe i should be glad i messed up the first shot?

being that you live in new york, you should try a roll of this film. they sell it over at B&H - Rollei Pan 25. the emulsion is completely clear. i printed this up at 16x20, framed it and gave it to my mom for her birthday... you should see it.

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
