don't come around here no more

wandering around central park during the 2007 puerto rican day parade, i walked past bethesda terrace and noticed it was completely barricaded off on all sides... as were all the cool places in the park, like the bandshell. i asked a cop why it was like this and he said they didn't want to give the puerto ricans any places to congregate. well, on the flip side, when else can you get a picture of this landmark completely empty, besides at 5:30 am? i also walked past a police wagon, where there were several latino people in handcuffs, waiting to be carted off. that would've been a picture, but i didn't want to chance getting my camera or film taken away. i took this shot on a roll of film that had expired 18 years prior.
